The chairman tells Zero over the school intercom that Yuuki was was worried and was searching for him while crying, and asks Zero to come to his office. Zero goes over and finds Kaname there.
Kaname: Don't look as though you've eaten something bad.
Zero: It feels as though something similar has happened before...
The chairman tells Zero that he was only joking, and Yuuki was neither crying nor looking for Zero. He only used Yuuki as a bait to get Zero to come over, and that was done with Yuuki's permission.
He goes on to say that Yuuki was stressed because Kaname and Zero were always quarreling, and causing her to bald. Zero guesses correctly that the chairman wanted them to get along so as to solve the problem.
Zero thought that it was a waste of time, and wanted to leave. The chairman tried to stop him, but Zero tried to shoot him with his gun. He was stopped by Kaname, who said that he was willing to bear with unpleasant situations if it was for Yuuki's sake.
Zero: Once we start a conversation, it'll only turn sour and make Yuuki's balding problem worse.
Kaname: Kiryuu kun, doesn't that depend on the amount of effort we put in?
The chairman tries to get the both of them to sit on the sofa, but Zero refuses to sit beside Kaname.
Kaname: I don't feel good with you looking down at me.
Zero: You just said that you'd bear with it.
The chairman says that both Zero and Kaname were immature. He also says that Kaname used to be innocent, and was often tricked by his lies. He wonders when Kaname became so evil. (Not seriously, of course.)
Zero says that Kaname has been like that since the day they met, and Kaname said that he didn't want to hear that from Zero, who came at him with a knife the first time they met.
The chairman comes to the realisation that that incident 4 years ago was the cause of Zero and Kaname not getting along, and not because the both of them were fighting for Yuuki.
Zero: Is that what it seems like from an outsider's point of view?
Chairman: It is for me, but I'm not sure about others.
Zero: That's terrible.
*more conversation*
Kaname: If what's making Yuuki worried is caused by that incident 4 years ago, do you think that we're still able to get along now, like what the chairman says?
Zero: As long as you are Kuran Kaname, that's impossible.
Kaname: I feel the same way too. As long as Kiryuu kun is Kiryuu kun, I have absolutely no intention of liking you.
Zero: I know.
The chairman says that Yuuki doesn't want to see them quarreling, and Kaname realises that they had quarreled in front of Yuuki many times before. Zero feels responsible for Yuuki going bald.
The chairman says something that makes Zero mad, and as a result, he gets his neck twisted. He leaves Kaname and Zero in his office, and locks the door from the outside.
Being stuck in the same room with no one else, they continued talking to each other.
Kaname: Even though the tea is cold, I'll fall asleep soon if I don't drink it. It's surprisingly good.
Zero: You can always make some if you're not satisfied.
Kaname: It's troublesome.
Zero: It's actually because you don't know how to make tea right?
Kaname: If it's herbal milk tea with honey, I know how to make it.
Kaname gets Zero to sit at the chairman's seat, and suggests that they pretend to get along in front of Yuuki. Zero thinks that it would be weird, and cause Yuuki to be scared and think that they're pretending to get along for some secret reason. In the end, they decide to slowly improve their relationship, starting from the surface.
Kaname: I feel like I'm doing something stupid.
Zero: It'd be worse if you didn't feel that way.
Back to the chairman, who had nearly dropped they key to his office in the toilet. He wonders how Kaname and Zero are getting alone, and thinks that they should be fighting in this office.
He returns, hears voices coming from inside, and decides to eavesdrop on Kaname and Zero's conversation.
They were talking about Yuuki, and the conversation later shifts to them talking about each other.
Zero: Senpai is actually very gentle.
Kaname: It's no good if you're fooled by me just like that. But, to be able to see the honest side of Kiryuu kun makes me feel like getting to know you better.
Zero: I've been fooled by senpai? Even if that's the case, it doesn't matter.
Kaname: You're really a fool.
Zero: If I ever think that senpai is an incorrigible, evil person, that would be when you betray the chairman and Yuuki's trust. But I don't think that day would come. However, if there really comes such a day, I'll go to senpai and -
Kaname: Assuming the role of a hunter, kill me?
Zero: I'm sorry. (Implied yes.)
Kaname: Even if I'm killed, I won't hate you. If I'm being killed by you, whom I trust the most...
Zero: Please don't say that, even if it's a lie. The night class would hate me even more if they heard that.
Kaname asks Zero to transfer to the night class, but Zero politely declines. Kaname asks him if it's because he would be bullied, but Zero says that he would not sit back and be bullied by others. Kaname says that he would protect Zero, and while Zero indirectly declined, he appreciated the gesture.
Kaname: As long as you stand proudly beside me it's fine, because our friendship is true.
Zero: Hearing Kuran senpai say this, my heart becomes stronger.
They went on for a while more before the chairman came in and started taking photos of the both of them for Yuuki. He gets his camera smashed by Zero, and starts shouting "My camera!".
Kaname announces that the time is up, and explained that he and Zero were just playing a game. The first one who ends it by not being friendly will lose.
Kaname and Zero return to their normal selves, and the atmosphere becomes chilly. The chairman lets slip that Yuuki balding was a lie, and Zero and Kaname didn't let him get away with it.
The photos that the chairman took were developed and given to Yuuki. Even though she didn't quite understand what was going on, she seemed very happy with the them.
